First - What Happened!

In December 2024 Storm Darragh paid us a very unwelcome visit. A large tree fell and, with perfect precision, demolished two storage sheds, pierced one of our water storage tanks, dismantled our water collection system and did a small amount of damage to our clubhouse.

In the New Year work started to clear the tree and thoroughly assess the damage. The tree has been cut up and the smaller branches dragged to the club boundary to form a dead hedge. We also have a good supply of logs for our clubhouse stove. Others have spent a lot of time researching our total losses and liaising with the Insurance Company. Work on rectification is completed ready for a, hopefully sunny, 2025.

Suntreckers held three rallies at SWOC in 2025:

April 17th to 22nd

June 24th to 29th

July 31st to August 5th. All were well attended, and we thoroughly enjoyed their company.

The First Sunday of the month April to October. After the Committee Meeting. Tea on the Lawn and a Raffle.

Midsummer Meal

This year's Midsummer Meal was held on 28th June.

Visiting Suntreckers were invited to join us. A three course meal was served in the marquee.

We also held a "small" raffle.

Visit by Local Clubs

On 19 July we hosted a visit by members of several local clubs. Despite a poor forecast the weather was kind to us and we all enjoyed a picnic lunch on the sun lawn. Later tea and cakes were served by some of the ladies of the club.

Other Events

On 12 April we held a Spring Clear Up Day. A lot was achieved. Grass was cut, hedges were trimmed, more work was done to repair the rainwater harvesting system and we all enjoyed a soup lunch.

A BN walk started and finished at SWOC on 15th July.
